It is good to concentrate on yourself before trying to love someone else. I have been taught that no one can love you for who you truly are, if you haven't taken the time to become yourself.

So I see racism, and have experienced it for myself, but I teach love to my children. I grew up in a primarily white town and I am part native. Visiting the reservation was also a place I experienced racism. Living in Arizona I could see it also with the Latino culture and the black people and white, in all directions! I did stand in court to state the neglect I saw. The mother had chosen to just place a blanket over a crying baby's play pen, while the baby cried for over an hour. Also, had seen this same mother hand the same 1 year old a whole apple when the baby couldn't bite through it. Since I had been through abuse and seen many of my friends need help through other difficult lifestyles, I have offered my house up to 4 women in 2 years. Jacob has now finished kindergarten and carline just got done with 1st grade. I have been having them in bed at 8 and have set Carline's bedtime at 830 for summer weekdays and 900 Friday and Saturday. She is finally sleeping until 7 am again.
